Hi. Welcome to all of my new students and parents. My name is Cindy Lawson and this is my 15th year of teaching in RRISD(11th year at Fern Bluff).

I received my degree from The University of Texas in Austin in 1986. My Generalist certification is 1st-8th grade and I am TAG certified as well. My focus at UT was in Reading. I absolutely LOVE what I do and teaching is my passion.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Steve, for 21 years. Steve is a retired firefighter from The City of Austin. He spends his time working as a baseball and softball hitting instructor. We have 3 awesome kids Ryan Winfrey(28), Blake Winfrey(26), and Katelyn(19). Ryan got married in October 2020 to Katy, our beautiful daughter-in-law, Blake is working in sales and Katelyn is a Sophomore at Texas A&M University. (Yes this Texas Longhorn struggled with this a bit at first but she loves it there and I am so happy for her)

As I said earlier, I love being a teacher and I look forward to an awesome year together with lots of learning and many laughs along the way. So excited to be your 5th grade teacher this 21-22 school year!
