All about the teacher

I have been teaching at McNeil High School since 2004 and have taught AP World History the entire time.

I LOVE teaching this course. It challenges students and me to continue to look at the world as the bigger picture of the mix of all of us. The scope of the course constantly challenges me and I hope to challenge my students. To keep up with all the changes and to be the best I can, I go every summer and score the AP Exams that students all across the country take. I have been doing this for 12 years running!

I am a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in History and my teaching degree from Texas State University at San Marcos. I also have a Masters of Science in Human Resources from Houston Baptist University. Though I don't believe that I will ever pursue another degree, I believe that one should never stop learning.

My husband and I moved to Austin in 2001. We have one son who is attending college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette - Geaux Ragin Cajuns. We love to travel and hope to be able to continue do so for a long time. In the recent past we have taken students on summer trips to Russia and Greece. We traveled with an adult group to Italy, Hungry, Austria, the Czech Republic, Peru, and as a family to Ireland, England, Shanghai, China, Canada, the East and West Coast of Mexico, Florida, New Mexico, Louisiana, Utah, Washington, Alaska, and all over Texas. I am considering a student trip to Costa Rica - that would be great.

I am also a "little" crazy about Star Trek and Star Wars! Yoda Rocks!
