Laurie Borman

Hi! I am so glad to be your child's teacher, and in many cases, their first experience in a school setting. I have taught both Kindergarten and Pre-K in Round Rock ISD for 26 years now, 20 of them here at Double File Trail. I have been married for 25 years and have two boys. Zak is a sophomore at Texas A&M University, while Jak is in 7th grade! I love spending time with my family, traveling and all things Disney....theme parks, characters, movies, music, you name it! I also love shopping online, vintage/retro dresses, eating out, and of course, working with children!

Our teaching philosophy is that children learn best by being interactively involved, playing, socializing and being presented with organized new experiences, materials and activities in a fun and engaging way. Increasing vocabulary happens on a daily basis, so our program strives to enrich your child's English language, while also working on age-appropriate literacy, math, science, social studies, handwriting, technology, self-care and social/emotional skills.

We encourage children to be capable and independent, to show leadership, and to be proud of their successes, while always working to progress to the next step. Our mission is to provide a safe and loving place for your child to learn and to be themselves, while becoming part of a larger team/family within their classroom, and also within the school.
