I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and I grew up going to school in the RRISD community where I graduated from McNeil High School. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelors Degree in Communication and a Minor in Criminal Justice. I completed my student teaching after college here at Cedar Valley and have been at this amazing school which is my second home for 16 years now.
I am the men's Athletic Coordinator, Head Football Coach, and PE Department Chair at Cedar Valley. My wife Amy and I have a 7 year old daughter named Ava who is in the 2nd grade. I enjoy supporting and coaching the players through all of their experiences of accomplishments and struggles. Nothing is more rewarding to me than watching our players develop into successful student athletes, and young adults. Our motto in the Jaguar Athletics Program is Tradition, Honor, and Excellence! GO JAGS!!!!
I was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and I have been a part of the RRISD community since 2018. I graduated from the University of Texas-Brownsville with a degree in Exercise Science and I have also earned my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Previous to my teaching career I was a member of the U.S. Army (National Guard) and served for 6 years as a medic providing support across Texas to include Operation Lonestar, Covid-19, Hurricane Harvey Relief and overseas on an extended military deployment with the 36th Infantry Division.
This is my first year at Cedar Valley and my 7th year teaching. Currently, I coach Cross Country, Football, Basketball, Track and Soccer. My wife Vanessa is also a teacher at Cedar Valley (6th Science) and my son James attends the Great Oaks ES CDC program.
