There are eight grades each six weeks with two being assessments worth 20% each and six being daily grades worth 10% each. These percentages are determined by the PLC or Personal Learning committee (all of the senior English teachers) and the RRHS English Department. All of the daily and assessment pieces can be found on Schoology. Many, particularly papers, are to be turned in to turnitin .com. Links and pass codes to these are in the section marked class documents. One thing to consider is that grades take up the full percentage until they are all entered. What that means is that upon putting in the assessment grade, it will count as 40% until the second assessment is entered. This creates a grade "CLIFF" that students fall off of if they receive and maintain an "M"(missing) on the first assessment. The "M" averages as a 0 so until the work is completed it is not unrealistic for a student to literally go from 90 to 50 with an assessment "M". Needless to say two or more missings will make it mathematically impossible to pass any six weeks.
