Math- This week in our math groups we will be continuing our study of ratios and taking a quiz. Where are ratios used in real life? I showed them the 2:1 ratio of water to rice for cooking up a pot of long-grain white rice, and I know there are more examples out there.
Did you struggle with math when you were in school? Here’s an interesting article to read.
Science- Students will finish up our study of systems. This information about systems will be revisiting during the rest of the year as we examine space, energy/light, and life. We will finish out the week by introducing the students to our Planetary Science unit.
*Look for the MOON LOG to come home. Students will be documenting what the moon looks like as it moves through the phases.
ELA- This week students will be finishing the short story, The Ravine by Graham Salisbury and will be writing a character analysis of one of the four characters. They will also be working on their performance task by comparing and contrasting the character traits of Vinny and Joe-Boy.
