Language Arts...
This week, our focus will be letter Ee...long and short sounds.
During centers, Mrs. Carpenter will continue to focus on concept of word, phonics, and word/sentence writings. Others centers will include paper/pencil tasks to practice our focus letters, letter review , and ipad activities.
Please take a few minutes to review letter printing, identification, and sound discrimination of each letter with your child.
An array of concepts will be hit this week. Positional words, number sequencing, and successive number practice will occur.
Counting by 1s, 5s, and 10s occur daily at calendar time. Counting backwards from 20, tally mark practice, and shape review happen also.
Things for your child to do at home...
*When an adult describes the location of an object using positional words, see if you can find it.
*Use sets of blocks to show all the ways to make various number...

*Print uppercase and lowercase letters on lined spaces.
*Sound spell a word starting with long and short Ee.
*Draw a picture and use sound spelling to label things in the picture.
*After listening to a story, retell the story with a different ending.
We will talk about healthy eating this week. Books and videos will be shared. Sorting activities, writing to a prompt, and constructing a food plate will help us learn about food choices.
We also will read STONE SOUP and make some to enjoy!!!
