Bio
Nicole Walker began her career in education in 1998, after graduating with an MAT in English from the University of South Carolina. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in English, Political Science and History from the University of South Carolina. She has taught both middle school and high school English, and is certified in Advanced Placement Language and Advanced Placement Research. She currently serves as the magnet director for the Scholars Academy, a humanities-based magnet focusing on business and law. She previously served as the school's literacy coach for seven years and is a doctoral candidate in the Language and Literacy department in the school of Education at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, with whom she has published a number of articles about literacy engagement for struggling learners.
