Library Information

Library Schedule:

Grades K, 1, and 2 have 45-minute classes in the LMC on the ABCD schedule.

Grades 3 , 4, and 5 have one 30-minute book exchange per rotation and visit for collaborative lessons.

Grades 6 visits the library media center during open book exchange and for collaborative lessons.

All students are welcome to exchange books daily during open book exchange times.

Book Checkout:

All books and magazines are due 2 weeks after checkout. 

In order to check out new books, students must return books that are due. See below for the number of books students in each grade level are allowed.

K & 1st - 1 Book*

2nd - 2 Books* 

3rd - 3 Books

4th - 4 Books

5th - 5 Books

6th - 6 Books

*If students in these grades forget their books, they may check out one additional book.

Books checked out for research do not count toward regular book total.

Lost/Damaged Books:

Students who lose or damage books will receive a bill for the replacement cost of the item. If you have any questions about a missing or damaged book, please contact Mrs. Mitchill at rmitchill@reg4.k12.ct.us or at 860-767-8215, x5127.

Puzzle Points:

During library media time, a class can earn up to 4 puzzle points.

In the Library Media Center, we show...

- Participation and Effort by trying our very best with all that we do whether it is listening to a book, using technology, looking for a book, or reading or researching independently.

- Kindness and Cooperation by working together and using kind and supportive words and actions with our peers.

- Listening and Following Directions by listening to each other following classroom expectations.

- Prepared to Learn by coming to the Library Media Center ready to be an active learner and by remembering to return library materials that are due.
