 Erin Matlock

K-5 Teacher

  I have been teaching in the Redmond School District for 25 years and have been with RSDFlex since 2020.  Working with families here at RSDFlex has shown me the power of how  joining together to create a flexible learning program  can benefit students working from home. Our joint passion of loving our kids and wanting them to be the best versions of themselves is what makes RSDFlex feel like it's own small community of support, and I am very lucky to be a part of it.

Outside of teaching, I have a husband and 2 daughters in college.  I love to hike, go rock hounding, read, and do some crafting in my spare time.  We have a Russian Tortoise, bearded dragon, and 2 fish at home.  You can find me running or biking in the canyon, or at the closest Starbucks! 😃

I have always known that I wanted to teach elementary school. I have lived in Central Oregon since I was 15 years old, and started teaching here right out of college. I have taught a variety of grades and subjects but no matter what age/grade I am teaching, I truly love working with kids and seeing all of the "lightbulb moments" and growth throughout a school year! This will be my first year working with RSDFlex and my 12th year teaching, I am very excited to work alongside families and help their children grow. 

In addition to being a teacher, I am also a wife (12 years married), mother to two young children (1 year old son and 4 year old daughter), dog mama, and we have a small hobby farm with pigs, chickens, and a garden! We love being outside, rafting, paddle boarding, hiking, gardening, etc. I also love reading, knitting and drinking coffee in my "free" time.

Hello! My name is Ms. Hillary! My two girls, dogs, chickens and bunnies keep me busy! My husband and I love the outdoors. I enjoy boating, hunting, gardening, running and camping! I can't wait for another year at Flex Elementary.
