Reinforced Concrete Column

Objective

To identify the section properties and interaction diagram of the reinforced concrete column.

Problem

A 12 X 12 in. column is reinforced with four No.9 bars of area 1.0 sq. in. each, one in each corner with 1.5 in concrete cover as shown in Figure 7.4.2.1. The concrete cylinder strength is f'c = 4000 psi and the steel yield strength is 60 ksi.
