Mrs. McGraw’s Science Expectations

You are expected to:

1. Respect everyone and everything. You are expected to work with a partner or group of students frequently in science class, which means for 40 minutes you put aside you differences and work WITH each other to complete the task. Partners will change on a 9-week basis, but partnerships can also be rearranged if one person is not doing their fair share of the work; do not be a mooch, it will not win you any friends. Do not abuse or misuse the equipment in the room; it is expensive to replace.

2. Come to class ON TIME and PREPARED TO LEARN!! Bring a pencil or pen, your science notebook, textbook as needed, and any assignments that are due. You are expected to be in class during class, if you are missing class because of a field trip, you must see me ahead of time to make arrangements. You must see me ahead of all band lessons or choral rehearsals to see if it possible for you to miss class; in most instances you can make the work up outside of class, but there are a few times when that is not the case. If you have not been excused from class, you will be written up for cutting class.

3. The Academic Integrity Policy will be used in dealing with copying any work including, but not limited to homework, tests, quizzes, and lab work. You should not attempt to fabricate or make up lab results as this is also a violation of the policy.

4. You are responsible for gathering all work that is missed due to an absence from school. All handouts from class will be placed in the handout bin at the back of the room, please check it for handouts when you return to school. Homework assignments due the day of an absence are to be turned in the day you return to school. Students are responsible for getting their assignments before vacations giving ONE WEEK notice.

5. You are responsible to check your grades on Skyward after an assignment is returned or uploaded to ensure that you received the credit that you earned. Do NOT wait until the end of the grading period to ask questions about grades on assignments that were returned weeks ago. You can obtain your User ID and Password from guidance.

6. All assignments and daily class activities will be uploaded to Google and can be accessed through the Homework Hub link on the Middle School Homepage. Follow the Homework Hub link and then just click on Mrs. McGraw to find your science class.

7. Take pride in your work. Your work should be done neatly and as accurately as possible. If I cannot read it, it will not be graded.

8. You should use the restroom in between classes; do not ask to go to restroom in the middle of the class period unless it is an emergency. Restroom emergencies should be few and far between.

9. Ask questions and add new ideas to our classroom discussions daily. Class participation is a necessary part of learning!
