ESSER FEDERAL FUNDS

ELEMENTARY & SECONDARY SCHOOL EMERGENCY RELIEF FUNDS (ARP ESSER III)

SPENDING PLAN

2021-2024

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government initiated the Elementary & Secondary Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund. The funding is allocated to schools based on each school’s percentage of economically disadvantaged students. For Ravia Public Schools, the total amount of dollars allocated for the 3rd installment titled the American Rescue Plan (ARP)/ESSER III is $317,503.18. These funds are available until September 2024 as a reimbursement for costs associated with a school’s response to the pandemic in keeping students and staff safe and overcoming student learning loss. The following is a general plan for utilizing the funds at Ravia Public Schools.

• After school tutoring programs (staffing)

• Remediation programs (staffing)

• Curriculum and software programs to support learning within school remediation programs during the school year and in after school tutoring programs

Staff/Student Safety

• Serviced all Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) units districtwide

• Serviced all water fountains and filtration systems of water fountains

• Cleaning supplies and equipment to help prevent and stop the spread of Covid-19

• Employee salary and benefits for a school based nurse

Facility Renovation

• Removing carpet and install non-porous floor surfaces

• Repairs and renovations to facilities to help prevent and stop the spread of Covid-19

• Security system for facility

Student/School Transportation

• Purchase of bus and other approved school transportation

Staffing Retention

• Employee salaries and benefits for identified employees supporting learning loss programs

Technology

• Software programs/tools to support virtual, blended, and distance learning options

• Technology such as desktop computers for a computer lab to support remote learning programs, after-school tutoring programs, and remote learning options for students

• Employee salary and benefits for identified employees supporting learning loss and distance learning programs (Instructional technology coordinator)

General Business Expenditures

• Activities that are necessary to maintain the operation of and continuity of services in local educational agencies and continuing to employ existing staff of the local education agency
