Welcome to Mr. Rice's Social Studies Class
8th grade social studies is the second half of a two year United States history class. We pick up where 7th grade left off at the end of the Civil War. Our journeys take us through the Immigration Period, the Roaring 20s, both world wars, and the 1960s to name a few. We finish up with where we are today. It is an extensive course that will help students understand how we got to where we are in the United States.
My name is Russell Rice and I teach 8th grade social studies on Team Dolphins. I graduated with a B.A. in history from Binghamton University. Upon completion of my B.A. I went on to earn my teaching certificate from St. Thomas Aquinas College. My Master's Degree in Instructional Technology was earned from New York Institute of Technology. I have been teaching at Suffern Middle School for 26 years.
