This year begins my 15th year in the teaching profession. I love my students, I love what I do, and I love the content that I teach. I graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in history. I was fortunate to be taught by such esteemed faculty as Dr. Anita Helle and Dr. Andrea Lunsford. I earned a master's degree in Secondary English and Curriculum Design from Oregon State University as well and began my career teaching British Literature to 12th graders at McNary High School. I am currently finishing a specialist degree in English and Curriculum design through Nova Southeastern University.
I quickly realized that my heart was in the South, so I relocated to Habersham County, Georgia where I taught primarily British Literature for the next eight years. After that I headed here to Rabun County where I have taught for the past four years. What a great county to be in! I am so proud of our school system and I am grateful to be a part of it.
When I am not at school, you will find me enjoying life and making memories. I love to travel, cook, read and try new things. I have three children whom I love dearly. My son, Colton, is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and is engaged to his sweet fiancee, Angel. He is a Captain in the United States Air Force. My middle daughter, Cassidy, is a writer for various publications and does freelance website design. She is married to my son-in-law, Nathan, who serves as a Gwinnett County police officer and in the United States Army Reserves. My littlest is Taryn Colleen. She is my shadow. She is seven years old and in second grade at the primary school. I have a GWP dog named Elsa and a ginger cat named George Weasley.
Here's to a great year!!
This is my 4th year teaching special education and 3rd year at Rabun County Middle School. I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of North Georgia- Dahlonega and a master’s degree from Piedmont College, where I am currently pursuing my specialist degree. I like to spend time with my family and friends, run, and kayak.
Welcome to 8th grade. I am looking forward to working with these students for a second year. This is my 22nd year teaching in Rabun County. However, it is my first in 8th grade after being in 7th grade for five years. I enjoy working with all students and getting to know them, helping them learn and watching them grow.
I grew up in New York, but went to college in North Carolina and remained in the south since then. I received my bachelor degree from East Carolina University in Early Childhood Education. I completed my master's degree at North Georgia College & State University in Special Education. I am certified for Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Finally, I earned my specialist degree at Piedmont College.
I have one son, Justin, that has a degree in Game Design.
I enjoy reading, traveling (especially cruises), and spending time with family and friends.
The man, the myth... the legend.
