This is my 23rd year at Queensbury Union Free School District.

I have taught fifth grade, fourth grade, Summer Academy STEM, elementary enrichment and for 10 years I served the District as Education Technologist supporting my K-12 colleagues' professional development and the use of technology in the classroom.

I'm a Hudson Falls High School graduate.  Math was my favorite subject in school.  I graduated from Union College with a degree in Computer Science.  After graduating from college, I moved to Syracuse, NY and worked for General Electric's Military Electronic Systems Organization.  I was a member of the Over the Horizon Radar Team.  After four years with GE, I relocated my family to Buffalo, NY where I worked as a Presales Consultant for Digital Equipment Corp. When my children were approaching their school age years, my family chose to move back to this area to enroll them in the Queensbury School District.  Queensbury was where we chose to buy our home because of the school district. 

Teaching is a second career for me. Twenty-five years ago, I returned to school and achieved my goal of becoming a NYS Pre K-6 Elementary Education Teacher.  I took classes at ACC and SUNY Plattsburgh to achieve my MST degree.  Student teaching experiences were Kindergarten at Big Cross Elementary School in Glens Falls and 6th grade ELA at Glens Falls Middle School. 

I was raised in an environment where knowledge, learning and education were valued and respected.  I created the same environment for my children.  Both my children attended Queensbury School grades K-12.

Daughter Kate graduated from Tulane University.  Kate is a high school Spanish Teacher at boys' prep school.  She and her husband have a son and a daughter and this Grandma loves to visit them in New Orleans, LA.  My grandson begins kindergarten this year and my granddaughter is in PreK age 3.

Son Gordon, a Union College bio mechanical engineering grad, is a marketing analytics director for a medical device company in San Francisco, CA.  He and his teacher wife Shelbi have a daughter and a newborn a son.  My granddaughter begins Kindergarten this year.  I love visiting them in the Bay Area.

Being a grandmother is a great joy for me.  I'm thankful for video calls and air travel that help me grow relationships with my grandchildren.

Teaching and learning are my passion.  I love teaching fifth grade.  It's an honor for me to be a Queensbury teacher and to partner with you to prepare your child for their future.
