My name is Chad Wiekierak and I teach earth science and coach boys JV soccer at Queensbury High School.
I'm originally from Michigan but grew up in the area. I graduated from Northville Central in 1991 then went on to attend SUNY Oswego. I graduated from Oswego in 1995 with a BS in Meteorology and minor in Mathematics. After graduation I was hired as a meteorologist for a private forecasting company in Houston, Texas. While working there I began taking education classes. After several years working as a weather forecaster I started teaching chemistry and physical science at Mayde Creek High School In Katy, Texas. I taught there for three years before coming to Queensbury in the fall of 2002.

Throughout the year I will provide the basic information and activities to help my students learn about the topics introduced, but in order for them to get the most out of what I provide, it will be on them to be actively engaged. Students who possess/develop good work and study habits will have no problem being successful in this course.
Part of our districts mission statement is to "empower all students to be lifelong learners". I structure my lessons throughout the year so my students leave in June with habits and 21st century skills that will help them reach a greater success in any subject, not just earth science.
If you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you’re determined to learn, no one can stop you.
