Monday 5/3: Today in Math we will be working on EOG review. Focusing on key words and the CUBES Strategy. Students will work on a Flocabulary in small groups, and complete teacher recommendations in IXL.

Monday 4/26: Today in Math we will continue to work on classifying quadrilaterals and triangles. Students will be an EdPuzzle in schoology: Classifying Quadrilaterals. This will be taken as a completion grade.
Tuesday 4/27: Today in Math we will be working on finding lines of symmetry and determining if objects are symmetrical. Students will need to complete the 16-4 Quick Check in EnVision Math, after completing it they will need to work on their additional support for 16-4 quick check.
Wednesday 4/28: Today in Math students will be working on classifying triangles and quadrilaterals in small groups. Students will be given a Who Am I? Assignment in schoology. Today in math we will be reviewing for the quiz tomorrow. Students will be given a study guide that will be completed for a grade.
Thursday 4/29: Students will be taking their Geometry Quiz. Afterwards they will be allowed to play prodigy in breakout rooms with their classmates, as long as all their assignments are turned in and they scored high enough on their study guide.

Wednesday 3/17: Happy St. Patrick's Day! Students will work in small groups on the catch the leprechaun assignment. After they finish the assignment they will be given time to work on their Robot. IXL will be done as homework focusing on Area and Perimeter.
Thursday 3/18: Today will be the last day that students have to work on their project in class as they will be due tomorrow. We will also do an Area and Perimeter Time to Climb in class. Tutoring will be offered for any student who needs additional help and for all students working on Success maker.

Monday 2/22: Today in math we will be reviewing line plots and multiplying fractions. We will be working on slides 21-25 and completing an EdPuzzle in schoology. Homework will be to do the teacher recommendations in IXL.
Tuesday 2/23: Today in math we will be working in small groups to answer questions involving multiplying whole numbers and fractions. Students will be given a study after they complete their group work. Tutoring will be offered from 1:15-1:45, and we will be reviewing for the quiz tomorrow.
Wednesday 2/24: Today in math we will review the study guide and go over any questions. Students will be taking their Multiplying Fractions and Line Plots Quiz. They will be given an extension after the quiz depending on their score.

February 1- February 5: Adding and Subtracting Fractions
Monday 2/1: Today in math we will be reviewing how to simplify fractions. Then we will begin our new unit with discussing unit fractions and how to decompose a fractions. Slides 3-5 will be covered in todays lesson. The assignment for today will be in enVision math. Students can access it through schoology and logging into Savvas. Students will need to complete the Quick Check 9-1 and do the additional support for quick check 9-1.
Tuesday 2/2: Today in math we will continue working on decomposing fractions. Students will need to know the vocabulary on slide 7, and rewatch the video on slide 8 for further assistance. Students will work in small groups in breakout rooms solve a word problem. The assignment for today will be in schoology Decomposing Fractions. Homework will be IXL Teacher Recommendations.
Wednesday 2/3: Today in math students will be working on adding and subtracting fractions. We will use a number line and discuss rules for adding and subtracting fractions. The Assignment: Quick Check 9-6 in enVision Math. After the Quick check please work on the additional practice for quick check 9-6.
Thursday 2/4: Today in math we will be learning how to decompose mixed numbers into improper fractions and how to add and subtract mixed numbers without borrowing. Students should watch the videos on slides 18-19 for additional support. The Assignment will be in schoology: Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers.
Friday 2/5: Today in math we will review yesterdays assignment. Then students will begin working in Map Skills to work toward achieving their goal that they set.
January 25- January 29
Monday 1/25: Today in math students will continue to work on comparing fractions. They will solve the question of the day on slide 9 below and work on the problems in the video on slide 10. Their assignment for the day will be a Nearpod in schoology. Once finished they should do the recommendations in IXL (https://www.ixl.com/signin/queencitystem)
Tuesday 1/26: Today in math we will work in small groups to solve comparison word problems. We will solve a question of the day on slide 13. Then students will work with their group in breakout rooms. They can find their question in their small group folder in schoology. The assignment for today is in schoology Comparing Fractions: Word Problems, I will allow them to work in small groups to complete this graded assignment. Anything not completed in class will be done as homework. Tutoring will be offered to students who are having difficulty with comparing fractions.
Wednesday 1/27: Today in math we will go over the work from yesterday. Students will need to check their own work to see if they got the answers correct. We will then play kahoot to study for the quiz tomorrow. Assignment for today is a study guide and it will count as a homework grade. Be sure to study for the test tomorrow, use the slides below for assistance.
Thursday 1/28: Today in math students will take the Comparing Fractions Quiz. Tutoring will be invitation only. Those students in small group C should attend tutoring.

Friday 1/22: We will continue working on comparing fractions. Students will need to make sure they have all their work turned in and then be given a choice board to practice comparing fractions.
Thursday 1/21: Today in math we will begin our unit on comparing fractions. Students will be required to do an assignment in envision math: 8-6 quick check. Afterwards they should complete the additional practice for quick check 8-6.
Wednesday 1/20: Today in math we will go over the study guide from yesterday. Students should ask any questions that they may have regarding equivalent fractions. Students will take an open note quiz. They will have two chances and their score will be the average of the two, it will not be the highest score! Students do not have to take it twice it is their choice.
Tuesday 1/19: Today in math we will be reviewing equivalent fractions for our quiz tomorrow. Students will be playing kahoot as well as working on their Study Guide. Friday 1/15: Today in math we will be reviewing equivalent fractions and simplest form. Students will be working on a teacher lead Nearpod. Afterwards everyone will log into their Mapskills (using the red logins folder) and working on their individualized learning according to their map goals.
Thursday 1/14: Today in math we will continue working on finding equivalent fractions using division. Students will learn two new vocabulary terms, Simplest Form and Greatest Common Factor. They will be required to complete their assignment in schoology: Generating Equivalent Fractions. Use slides 20-27 for additional support! Tutoring will be held at 1:15 - 1:45 to practice working with equivalent fractions.
Wednesday 1/13: Today in math students will be learning how to generate equivalent fractions by multiplying the top and bottom numbers by whole fractions. They will be given an assignment in enVision math to practice and should work in IXL for homework. Use slides 14-19 for additional support.
Tuesday 1/12: Today in math we will be working on how to find equivalent fractions on a number line. Students will be given an assignment in schoology Equivalent Fractions. We will be working on slides 8-13.

Tuesday 1/5: Welcome Back to school. Today in Math students will be sharing what they did over their break. We will review solving multi-step word problems by playing a Kahoot. Students will work in IXL for the remainder of class time. Use slides 17-18 for more information.
Wednesday 1/6: Today in Math we will begin to set our Math MAP Goals. I will be meeting with students individually to set their goals. While I am meeting with students others will be working in small groups solving the word problems in enVision Math. When they finish their group work they will be assigned Multi-Step Word Problems assignment in schoology. This will be taken as a grade! Use slides 19-21 for more information.
Thursday 1/7: Today in Math we will continue to set our Math MAP Goals. I will go over the enVision math assignment from yesterday. Students will be working in small groups to finish the assignment from yesterday in schoology: Multi Step Word Problems and begin working on their small group word problems. The assignment in schoology needs to be completed by the end of class today!
Friday 1/8: Today in math we will be working in small groups solving questions in our small group folder in schoology. I will finish setting MAP goals with students. I will also go over the word problems from Tuesday. Please make sure you have completed your multi-step word problem assignment in schoology.

Thursday 12/17: Today in math we will be reviewing long division. We will watch a quick video and do some problems together. Afterwards students will complete a choice board. They will pick assignments they would like to do and complete the activities. There will be no tutoring today as we will be discussing long division as a whole group.
Wednesday 12/16: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MS POPE! Today in math we will making sure all assignments are complete. Then we will be working in small group break out rooms to solve a Christmas CSI Math Activity. Each group will be solving math problems to receive clues to who stole Santa's sleigh. The first group to determine who stole Santa's sleigh will be the winner. If you miss class you can access the assignment in schoology.
Tuesday 12/15: Today in math we will continue to work on comparison word problems. Students will solve the word problem of the day as a warm up and then we will go over two questions that challenged students yesterday on their Quick Check. Students will be required to complete their Comparison Word Problems in schoology. Lastly students should enter IXL and work on the teacher recommendations to get extra practice with solving word problems. I will hold a tutoring session at 1:15 for any student needing additional support with long division.
Monday 12/14: Today in math we will be working on a solving comparison word problems in enVision math. We will watch the Visual learning on slide 7. Then students will be logging into their enVision math account and completing the 6-1 Quick Check. We will work on the Word Problem of the Day on slide 8. There will be a Nearpod long division review in schoology for homework. Please make sure all your work from last week is completed as well. Final grades will be turned in on Thursday!

November 30- December 4:
Friday 12/4: Make sure your have completed your Division Test and turned in your Study Guide!!! Today will be a review day. Students will have the option to do a multiplication fact coloring sheet, work on a nearpod or play a game in enVision math. I will go over all three options in class. If you are unable to attend please practice you multiplication and division.
Thursday 12/3: Division Test in enVision Math. Students will be taking their division math test today. They will need to log into Saavas to take their test. After their test they will be working on the additional support in enVision math.
Wednesday 12/2: Today in math we will be reviewing the study guide in detail and answering any questions students may have about division. Study Guides will need to be turned in today. Students will also be given a Nearpod assignment on division in their schoology account to help them study for the test tomorrow. All study guide questions will be answered in the slides today they are the questions in yellow. I will also place the answers to the study guide on my website this afternoon. You MUST study for this test!!
Tuesday 12/1: Today in math we will be working on partial quotients. Students will be required to log into their enVision math accounts and complete the partial quotients quick check. We will continue to study for the test on Thursday. Study guides need to be completed by tomorrow!
Monday 11/30: Today in math we are going to continue our unit on division. We will be reviewing how to divide using different strategies. We will play a Kahoot to review basic division and multiplication facts. I will also be going over slides 45-48 (reminder all the yellow questions in the slides are test questions and are on the study guide as well). The study guide will be assigned and is due on Wednesday. I strongly encourage everyone to begin studying now as the test on Thursday will be challenging.

Thursday 11/19: Today in math we will continue working on long division. We will be working on slides 39-43. We will also solve a word problem of the day. WATCH THIS VIDEO if you missed class to see how to solve the word problem. Watch the video on slide 42, and complete your Nearpod assignment in schoology. Reminder there will be no math zoom tomorrow but you will be required to do the assignments in schoology.
Wednesday 11/18: Today in math students will join my Flocabulary class. They will follow the link www.flocabulary.com/join-class
They should sign in using their google accounts (@queencitystem.org) Then enter the class code K9BTY6
Students will then take the vocabulary quiz. After the quiz they will work on their Flocabulary assignment.
Once everyone is done with the vocabulary quiz we will begin to work on long division. If you miss class please do your vocabulary quiz and join Flocabulary and do your assignment there. Lastly review slides 35-38.
Tuesday 11/17: Today in math students will continue to learn how to divide using partial quotients and begin working on using area models to divide. We will be working on slides 30-34. Also students will be doing their assignment in schoology. When students finish the assignment they will be directed to IXL for additional practice. Students should use slide 34 to study for the Math Vocabulary test tomorrow.
Monday 11/16: Today in math students will be learning how to solve division problems using partial quotients. We will be working on slides 26-29. Students will be required to do their assignment in Khan Academy. When they finish the assignment they should work in IXL for 10-15 minutes for additional practice or as an extension.
November 9- November 13: Division
Friday 11/13: Wear your favorite sports team to promote Team Kindness!! Today in math we will be reviewing what we have worked on all week. Students who need additional help on assignments will work with the teacher while other students will work together in breakout rooms completing their Turkey Tom Escape Room Challenge. If you missed class please review slides 22-25 and watch the video on estimating quotients.
Thursday 11/12: Today in math students will continue working on interpreting remainders, and estimating quotients. Students will need to make sure they have no missing assignments as progress reports will be emailed tomorrow. If you missed class please check out slides 18-21, and complete the assignment in enVision Math 5-4: Quick Check. Remember when logging into enVision math you must go to your red logins folder to find your user name and password.

Tuesday 11/10: Today in math we will continue working on estimating quotients. We will also begin our lesson on interpreting remainders. Students should watch the video on slide 16 and 17 (reminder you will need to be logged into enVision math to watch the video). Students should complete the assignment on interpreting remainders in schoology.
Monday 11/9: Today in math we worked on basic division facts. We played a kahoot. After the kahoot we worked on the slides 11-13 below. November 2- November 6: Benchmark Testing and Division
Friday 11/6: Today in math we will have a FUN Friday for all the students that completed all their classwork for the week. Students who have not finished their Benchmark Test or Dividing Multiples of 10,100,1,000 by 1 digit numbers in schoology will have time in class to complete the assignment. All assignments for the week need to be completed by the end of the day.
Thursday 11/5: Today in math we are going to be starting our new unit on division. We will work on a mini lesson Dividing Multiples of 10, 100, 1,000 by 1 digit divisors. Students will be required to work on their assignment in Schoology: Divide multiples of 10, 100, 1,000 by 1 digit numbers. Also any student who did not complete their Benchmark should visit me in tutoring today at 1:15 to complete their assignment. Use the Division slides (above) 2-7 for additional support.
Wednesday 11/4: Today we will continue the Benchmark Testing. When students finish they will be asked to work in IXL.
Tuesday 11/3: Today we will be working on taking the Benchmark Test in enVision math. You will need to access your username and password from the Red Login/Passwords folder then click the link my.ncedcloud.org Click Savvas EasyBridge then enVision Math.
Monday 11/2: Today in math we will be reviewing multiplication word problems as well as working in our small groups to solve word problems. Students should work in IXL for additional practice with multiplication for at least ten minutes.

Friday 10/30: Today in Math students will be working on a Halloween Escape Room which is located in the Multiplication Folder in Schoology. Students must have their study guides done and turned in as well as their quizzes completed to participate in the Escape Room.
Thursday 10/29: Today in Math students will be taking their Multiplication Quiz. Students need to make sure they have turned in their study guides for a completion grade. Tomorrow Students can dress up for their zoom class if they would like.
Wednesday 10/28: Today in Math we will spend the class time reviewing the study guide and studying for the quiz tomorrow. We will also review how to multiply 2 two digit numbers using regrouping. Please check out the slides to find the answers to the study guides. Study guides need to be turned in tomorrow for a completion grade. Study Lunch Bunch today at 12:00. The study guide located below but was also assigned through schoology. Please make sure you turn it in through schoology to receive your completion credit. All answers are in the slides below as we worked on it in class today.
Tuesday 10/27: Today in Math students will continue working on multiplying 3-4 digit numbers by 1 digit number using regrouping. Students will then be introduced to multiplying 2- two digit numbers. They will watch the Math Antics video on slide 49 (this video is also in their assignment for today) then we will complete slide 50 together. Students should complete their assignment in Schoology today Tuesday 10/27 Multiplying 2 two digit numbers. Also continue to work on the study guide. Small Group Tutoring will be offered at 1:15 for those who need additional support with multiplication facts.
Monday 10/26: Today in Math students will be learning how to multiply 3-4 digit numbers by a 1 digit number using standard algorithm (regrouping). Students should watch the video that is in the slides on the assignment in schoology and try to complete their assignment. You can also watch this video on how to complete the assignment. Lastly I put the Study Guide in Schoology and it should be completed by Wednesday as our quiz is on Thursday. The Study Guide will be counted as a homework grade so please make sure you do it and turn it in.

Tuesday 10/20: Today in math we will continue to work on using area models and partial products to multiply two digit numbers. If you missed class please watch the videos on slides 30 and 31. Tuesday 10/13: Today in Math we will begin our Unit on multiplication. We will begin by reviewing our multiplication facts. I will also be holding a tutoring session at 1:15 by invite only. I have invited students who have struggled on their quiz yesterday or are missing assignments. I will hold a help session Thursday for any student who wishes to attend but for today it will be invite only. Thank you for your understanding. Homework for today will be IXL for 10-15 minutes.
Monday 10/12: Today in Math we will be taking a quiz over Factors, Multiples, Prime and Composite Numbers. After the quiz students will be working in IXL. All students need to make sure their projects have been turned in.

Monday 10/5: Today in math we will be reviewing multiples and factors. We will review the question on slide 23. After I will assign the "My Special Number Project" going through the expectations on the rubric. Students will have the remainder of the time to begin their project and ask any questions about their project that they may have. Thursday 10/8: Today in Math we will be working on the question on slide 31. We will continue to review factors and multiples and how to determine if a number is prime or composite. Wednesday 9/30: Today in Math we will begin our new unit on Factors and Multiples. Students will learn the difference between a factor and multiple. We will be learning how to find the factors of numbers using a factor rainbow and determining if the number is prime or composite. September 21-25: Multi-Digit Subtraction
Monday 9/21: We will begin our unit on subtraction today. We will be practicing borrowing while subtracted so PLEASE NO CALCULATORS. It is very important you learn how to do this on paper and pencil. We will be watching the video on slide 2 if you miss class or need a refresher pleas watch it. There will be an assignment in Schoology today in the Subtraction Folder labeled Monday Subtraction. Please complete the assignment by the end of the day.
