Homework Policy

• Anything that is assigned for homework will be material that has already been covered in class.

• All assignments must be complete TO THE BEST OF YOUR CHILD’S ABILITY.

  • All steps must be shown with a CIRCLED/BOXED answer at the bottom. When the students are solving word problems, the final answer MUST be in a complete sentence (Math only).

  • All homework assignments MUST BE WRITTEN BY YOUR CHILD ONLY.

• Assignments will be posted in the classroom, verbalized before the end of class, and long-term assignments will be POSTED online.

• If your child is absent it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to get the missing assignment/s from the teacher and returned within an appropriate time-frame (given by teacher).

• Late assignments will be handled as follows:

  • 1st Trimester: All assignments are due by the next CLASS unless a different due date was assigned by the teacher. Late assignments will receive a 5 point deduction for each class the assignment is late. If the assignment is not received after 6 classes it will receive a zero.

  • 2nd Trimester: All assignments are due by the next CLASS unless a different due date was assigned by the teacher. Late assignments will receive a 5 point deduction for each class the assignment is late. If the assignment is not received after 3 classes it will receive a zero.

  • 3rd Trimester: Upon the start of 3rd trimester, Fifth grade students will be expected to follow the 6th-8th grade late assignment policy. This police will be reviewed and distributed to students towards the end of 2nd trimester.
