About Me

SInce 2012, I have been the Music Teacher and Choral Director at QOA. In 2019, I began happily dividing my time between teaching Music class and Art Class while continuing as the Chorus Director. I have SO MUCH FUN!

As Music Teacher, I teach classroom music to Pre-K - 8th grade. With the help of Mrs. Carter as well as the faculty, I prepare all the QOA students to perform for our beautiful Christmas Pageant as well as our extra-fun Grandparents Day Show. As Chorus Director, I prepare the Chorus to perform at our Christmas and Spring Concerts. We also compete at the Showcase Festival at Dorney Park where we have won many awards! I love to help Sister Kathleen Metz with organizing small groups of singers to join her while she cantors and plays guitar at our First Friday Masses and other special occasions. I also enjoy teaching the 5th grade the songs for our special reenactment of Living Stations.

As Art Teacher, I teach classroom art to Kindergarten - 8th grade. I present a school wide art exhibit in Fr. Curran Hall for our Veterans Day Celebration. One of my favorite things to do is to hang the artwork around the school and watch and listen to students talk about the work they see.

As a harpist, I have performed as a soloist as well as a member of many orchestras throughout the US including the Pennsylvania Ballet, Delaware, Lancaster, and Montana Symphony Orchestras. I have had fun performing with Josh Groban, Martina McBride, Randy Newman, and Ann Murray. For many years, I toured the East Coast performing New Year's Eve concerts at the Lincoln Center in NY to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. I also performed a concert for President and Mrs. Clinton at the Thoreau Institute and Leonard Nemoy (Spock from Star Trek) in Boston. I have my Masters of Music degree in Harp Performance from New England Conservatory and my Bachelors of Music degree from Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.

I have a wonderful husband who is a band director and the creator and director of the Jenkintown Community Band, a daughter, two cats, and a very cute “hot dog” dog who is obsessed with chasing a ball. Our family loves spending our free time traveling around to the shore, Connecticut, New York City and doing fun things in Philadelphia....and of course we spend a lot of time practicing our instruments, too!

I have been very blessed to be able to pass on my love of music, art and performance to students of all ages here at QOA School!
