Our second meeting was excellent! We had fun with holiday hypotheticals by defending a claim based on holiday movies. For the rest of the period, we worked on creating arguments for People vs Thor Ordison. This was a handout given out during the meeting. Please print it out, read it over and fill out the notes/questions/comments/thoughts section the best you can. Here is a list of our upcoming meetings!

Thor vs Odinson Elements Arguments
Prosecution:
In order to convict Mr. Odinson of criminal threats, the People must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that [language from the element you’ve selected]. [Review/argument of evidence that supports your position]. Therefore, the people have met our burden and satisfied this element.
Defense:
In order to convict Mr. Odinson of criminal threats, the People must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that [language from the element you’ve selected]. However, [Review/argument of evidence that creates doubt about this point]. This creates reasonable doubt. Therefore, the people have not met their burden and Thor Odinson should be found not guilty.

In today's meeting, we wrote arguments for our Thor vs Mr. Odinson based on the prompts above. Next, we shared aloud our arguments and discussed the merits of each side. Our next meeting is January 10th =)
