2. November 18, 2019  Meeting: 
  • Please come prepared to discuss People vs Odinson at our next meeting on 12/2! (Click  the link at the bottom of this page for the handout)

3. December 2, 2019 Meeting
  • Please come prepared to discuss People vs  Concha at our next meeting on 12/16! (Click  the link at the bottom of this page for the handout)
  • Please complete the member information on the attached Google Form if you did not attend the 12/2 meeting!
4. December 16, 2019 Meeting
  • Using People vs Concha, complete notes on the precedent analysis form attached below for our next meeting on January 6, 2020
5. January 6, 2020
  • We analyzed the precedent cases for People vs Concha.
    •  Use 1 of the prompts below to write your argument with a summary of relevant facts, commenting the similarities to another case and an explanation of why the case you chose is analogous. 
    • DEFENSE: Your honor, the defense moves to exclude the items found in Rae Concha's  car as the fruit of an unlawful search, in violation of the 4th Amendment because.......
    • PROSECUTION: Your honor, the people request that you deny the defense's motion and determine that Officer Doherty's actions did not violate the constitution because......
  • Our Tuffree Moot Court Tournament will be Sunday March 29 at El Dorado High School from 4:30-7:30pm.
  • Come prepared with a written argument for either side of the Concha case for our next meeting on January 13, 2020.

6.   January 13, 2020
  • Today we practiced our speaking and presentation skills by reading our prepared arguments from the last meeting.
  • For our next meeting, prepare some questions you think the judge may ask you to challenge your argument. Rewrite your argument to add details and more solid reasoning.
  • Our next meeting will be 1/27! 

7.  January 27, 2020
  • We handed out the case that will be our focus for our competition: L & P vs Epic Games **Link below to copy of the case if you need it.
  • We discussed questions judges may ask about fact situations and cases as well as what kind of responses might be structured.
  • Our next meeting will be 2/3! 

8.  February 3, 2020
  • Student partners need to be chosen. Partners should both be participating or not participating in the competition.
  • We went over the arguments for the L & P  vs Epic Games case using the handout linked below titled: Table of Arguments
  • We handed out a T-shirt order form along with important dates. **See link named 2/3 News_T shirt order
  • 3/29/2020 Tuffree Moot Court Competition Permission Slip was passed out.  **See link below for an extra copy.

  • You should have a partner by now for our L&P vs Epic Games Case - If you do not, come see Mrs. Schultz

  • Today we wrote an outline for our arguments and confirmed apellee and appellant partners.
