Mr. Stolper was born in Phoenix and grew up in Scottsdale. He attended Coronado High School in Scottsdale and Arizona State University in Tempe.
Mr. Stolper is married, coincidentally enough, to Mrs. Stolper, who was the general music teacher at Boulder Creek Elementary for many years. Together they have a son who has a Music Performance degree from the University of Arizona and currently works for the Deer Valley school district. They also have a daughter who was "Miss Arizona's Outstanding Teen" in 2010 and has been a professional dancer performing on the Princess Cruise Lines and at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.
Mr. Stolper has been teaching elementary band in the Paradise Valley school district since 1989. He is currently in his 32nd year at Campo Bello, 25th year at Eagle Ridge, and 18th year at both Desert Trails and Sunset Canyon.
Mr. Stolper is a drummer/percussionist who has been playing professionally in the valley for over 40 years, specializing in musical theater productions. He has played for over 170 different musicals in the valley over the past 4 decades, including over 120 productions at The Phoenix Theatre Company, where he has performed since 1978. Mr. Stolper has also played for Sunday morning services at Unity of Phoenix since 2002.
(Please don't be confused by the picture, it was obviously taken before Mr. Stolper grew his beard!)
