Student Distance Learning Expectations
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We are looking forward to this school year, however different it may be. In order to ensure yours and everyone’s success within the distance learning format, please follow these basic guidelines.
Environment:
Video is not required; however, If using video, the setting should be well-lighted so the teacher and other students can clearly see each other
No inappropriate posters or wall art
Silence audible music or avoid other distracting sounds in background, if possible
Participate from a setting conducive to schoolwork - it is best to establish a “school space/desk area” in the home
Dress:
Students should dress according to the student handbook
Casual - school-appropriate
No pajamas, sleepwear, or hoodies covering the face
No inappropriate messaging on clothing
Language and behavior:
Use school-appropriate language
Avoid distracting behaviors
Sign-on:
Use video unless directed otherwise by the teacher
Keep audio muted when not speaking
Attendance:
Teachers will take attendance each day (K-6) and for each period (7-12)
Students having technical issues should contact the school attendance line
If a student will miss a whole day or class period, please call the attendance line, the same as if we were “in person”
School Rules:
Students are expected to practice appropriate digital citizenship and etiquette.
Academic integrity is absolutely expected during this time- students should produce and turn in their own work - any violations will have consequences in accordance with the student handbook
