To create a scrolling backdrop in Scratch
I will demonstrate in class on Monday.
Step 1.Open the file for “backdrops” and select one so that it is showing in the middle section of Scratch-2 screen under backdrops.
Step 2 Use the “stamper” to create a copy of the backdrop in the middle section of your screen, under “backdrops.”
Step 3: Drag this copy into your backpack.
Step 4:Drag the copy from the backpack into the sprite section (underneath the stage section) and this will turn it into a sprite.
Step 5: Once it is a sprite you can program it, just as you would a regular sprite to move across the screen, twirl around, or whatever you want it to do.
Go to this link, to see a sample. You must click on the ocean sprite, and then click on its “scripts” to see the blocks.
