14 C.F.R. Part 139 Deviations and Non-Compliances

The airfield is not currently certified (nor is it currently anticipated to require certification under the Lease with Planetary Ventures) in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, 14 C.F.R. Part 139,Certification and Operations: Land Airfields Serving Certain Air Carriers, or TSAR-1542, Airfield Security. Moffett Federal Airfield, however, operates generally in accordance with 14 C.F.R. Part 139 and TSAR-1542, and improvements are ongoing to generally comply with aforementioned FAA/TSA Parts, limited to deviations and non-compliance items as identified below.

Under this regulation, MFA operates generally in accordance with 14 C.F.R Part 139 - Class IV safety standards which permit the Airfield to serve unscheduled non-air carrier passenger operations of largeaircraft.
