Message to Parents/ Caregivers:
The following web pages on this class site provide links and resources for your homework in Term 3.
Your child has been provided with a homework book which they complete their homework in. This book stays at home as homework is independent of class and is to be completed at your own pace and marked and managed by parents/ caregivers. If you have set a particular goal for your child you can use the resources provided as you wish to help your child improve. For example if you have set a goal to help your child improve their basic facts speed you can use the resources over and over to help he or she improve.
A good way to manage homework is to agree a set time for homework to be completed. This could be over a number of days or in one session.
Readers, Reading logs and Book Bags
Homework is additional to the readers your child will bring home in their book bag during the week. Your child is expected to complete the reading log with an adult and return it each day with the book he or she has read. Note your child must have a book bag to be allowed to take a book home, it keeps the books clean and dry.
If your child is in the reading groups Lions, Zebras or Monkeys then they will bring a journal or chapter book home which will be read over a series of days instead of daily. Remember to encourage your child you tell you what happened in the story and answer questions about what he or she has read.
