Our ongoing goals will include:
1. Use a planning template to help us think about our main ideas and what order we'll need to write them in.
2. Write sentences using a variety of beginnings.
3. Look to see if you can add detail to the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence.
4. Write a variety of types of sentences with appropriate punctuation - statement, exclamation, question, speech.
5. Include clever vocabulary, musings (what do you wonder about, notice, imagine, etc.), language features (similes), prepositional word groups, - these details make your writing more appealing for your audience.
6. Edit for punctuation, spelling, grammar - make sure it makes sense and really says what you want to say!
Ideas for our writing will come from our term inquiry topics and our small reading group subjects.
This year we are all learning to improve our writing skills which involves thinking about and remembering many things - some of which are listed below. We are learning to plan and write a piece of text that flows logically and each paragraph sticks to one main idea. We aim to fill each sentences and paragraph with strong and appealing details so that the audience is engaged or entertained right through to the very end.
