In this class students are asked to form groups of exactly two members to study a recent topic of choice in the field of Embedded Systems. These groups are different than those of the Design project. Each group has to search and pick two research papers in a topic of choice in the field of Embedded Systems. The two papers may be conference or journal papers and have to relate to each other some how. It is up to the groups to pic the topic and papers. But they have to get my approval on them before they start the work.
Once approved, every team has to present their papers in front of the class. Each team has two presentation days (20 minutes each) plus 10 minutes on each day for discussion and questions. Teams have to divide the work equally so that every person gets the same amount of presentation time. The presentation slides have to show the authors, affiliation, date of publication and the conference/journal names. The presentation has to be complete and present all ideas clearly. You will need to do more research and probably go back to some of the referenced papers to get a better understanding of the literature that the work was built on. Any conference paper that is to be picked has to be published in IEEE conferences during the last 5 years. And any Journal paper has to be in the Thomson Reuters Master Journal List (http://ip-science.thomsonreuters.com/mjl/) publuished in the last 7 years.
The following is a suggested list of topics:
1. Embedded Networks
2. Security in Embedded Networks
3. Real-time Embedded Systems
4. Automotive Applications
5. Aerospace Applications
6. Unmanned Systems
7. Fault Tolerant Embedded Systems
8. Reconfigurable Computing in Embedded Systems
