Final Projects

You are required to do a Final Project for this class with the following requirements:

    • Develop non-trivial embedded system or device that performs some useful function.

    • You may work in a group of 2, 3 or 4 students. Note that more is expected the larger the group is.

    • Turn in a proposal document that shows your group members and what you are proposing to do. (Due date: March 21st, 2013 - Midnight to b.sababha@psut.edu.jo)

  • For final demos, create a poster (a suggested template is attached below) and use it to help explain your work. Have your system up and running to show it off.

    • Upload your project to your group folder below. Make sure to upload: (Due date May 20th, 2013.)

      • Report, Should include these sections:

        • Abstract

        • Introduction and Background

        • Your Design (Mechanical, Electrical, Software)

        • Problems and recommendations

        • Conclusion

      • Source code (Compress your project folder, this should include everything including the hex)

      • Poster file (Suggested template is attached below)

      • PPT Slides

      • Good pics

      • At least one video (Upload a video to YouTube and add the link to your Group folder below)

Important Dates:

Project overview Document (1 or 2 page) and Group Members Names:Due date: March 21st, 2013 - Midnight through email to b.sababha@psut.edu.jo.

Final project presentations/demos/displays: May 21, 2013, as follows:

- The Final project prototype demos and presentations will be on Tuesday May 21, 2013 from 11 am - 3 pm.

- Every group will have to setup their prototype and poster on a table in the Projects lab.

- A group of faculty members as well the dean of engineering will walk in and hear from each group about their project and see a demo of the prototype running.

- Then everybody will go to the "LOAY SHAMOOT" auditorium to start the presentation.

- Each of the faculty members will have a sheet to evaluate every project and group.

Misc:

    • Please make sure to printout your poster and mount it on a hard board to have it displayed for you somewhere in the school of engineering.

    • See attached grading form to get an idea of what the judges will be looking for.

  • VERY IMPORTANT:

      • Fill in the "EmbeddedSystemsPeerEvalsSpring2013" Word document (attached below), print it and turn it in (in a sealed envelop) on the day of the presentation. You will not be graded before you turn in the form filled out.
