Reading resources:

  • OverDrive - The entire Poudre River Public Library District is closed, however, you can still get books. You can sign up for an instant digital library card with only a mobile number. You can send books to your Kindle, download the OverDrive app on any device, or even just read right there on the computer screen.
  • TumbleBooks - This is a collection that reads books aloud with highlighted words and basic animation. It appears that you can access this without a library card number. Just follow the link.
  • BookFlix - Another Poudre River Public Library Resource you can access that pairs fiction books with non-fiction books in videos and read alouds. This resource requires a Poudre River Library card number.
  • Epic! - Epic! is currently offering free remote access to its library of more than 40,000 books. You can read on a computer or download the Epic! app to a device. It has books by interest and level and many of the books will be familiar to you and your children. You can change settings so the book is read aloud or so the child can read it on their own. I can even assign books to your child that are at his/her current reading level. The only catch is you must be invited by an educator. Let me know if you want access, specify which parent email you would like me to enter, and you will get free home access through June.

Reading and math practice:

  • MobyMax - You received an email from Deb Buggle on how to get started on MobyMax. She put our class info in today. Your child should log in using their normal sign in (lunch number) and password (a four-digit number followed by their initials twice). I will work on getting the usernames and passwords to each family in an email in case your child doesn't know their numbers. Important: please don’t help your child on the placement tests MobyMax gives. If you help them, the work will end up being much too difficult for them.
  • IXL - I am working on getting our class on IXL. I know a lot of older siblings use it and I think it will be fun for kindergartners to do work like their siblings. I will let you know when this is ready to go and provide the correct link.
