Hello Ste. Marie Families!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer and are looking forward to getting back into routine come September!
This year's start of school looks a little bit different as our division is rolling out several new initiatives that they would like to pre-train our teachers and educational assistants for, therefore students will only officially begin back to school on Monday, September 14.

This is called a Soft Start Day (Orientation Day). Buses are not running on this day and the students are not required to be at school. This day is used for our teaching staff to meet in the morning to go over last minute details and to put the finishing touches on their classrooms. Students are free to come with their parents between 1pm - 3pm to tour the classrooms and meet with teachers if they wish to do so!

The Official Start of the School Year for Grade 1-8 Students
This is the first day of school for students in Grades 1-8. Buses will be running and we will have regular classes. Generally the bus drivers contact families about pick up and drop off times a few days prior to school starting. Across the division routes are still being ironed out as we often have late registrations. If you have questions about your bus route, please contact me and I will do my best to answer your questions!
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 - Kindergarten’s First Day!
This is the first day of school for our kindergarten students! We are so excited for them to start their learning journey at Ste.Marie School. This year our kindergartens will be attending school every Tuesday and Thursday and two (ish) Fridays per month. Kindergarten parents, if you did not receive our kindergarten calendar, please let me know and I will get you a copy!

Lil’ Creek Photography will be returning to Ste. Marie to take our school pictures on Tuesday, September 22. The photographer is aiming to be at our school late morning / early afternoon (as she is taking pictures in another school first).

Sadly, we are saying goodbye to Mrs. Chelsea Hacault who has been our custodian for the past several years. The work she has put into ensuring our school is the “shiniest and cleanest school in the division” did not go unnoticed! We will miss her immensely!
