Create a TurboTax® Online Account via turbotax.ca/download 

When you create an account to use TurboTax, you're creating an Intuit account. You can use this account to access all of Intuit’s powerful products including TurboTax, Mint, and QuickBooks with the same User ID and password.                

1. Visit the signup page or enter the url on your search box - Turbotax.ca/download

2. Enter the mail address (Please use your primary email address. We'll ask you to verify this address before you file your taxes)

3. Again confirm the mail address      

4. Enter the User ID. (To keep your account extra safe, don't reuse an ID from other sites or include any personal info.)

5. Type the correct phone number 

6. Lastly enter the password you want to create (Your password must be strong)

What is Turbotax License Code?

Your license code is a 16-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that verifies the software and allows you to finish installing and begin using TurboTax.

You should be asked to enter the license code after installation. If you purchased the CD, but do not have a CD drive, you may still use the license code.        

1. Go to InstallTurboTax.com.

2. Set up a TurboTax account if you don't already have one. If you do, sign in. (If you don’t remember your credentials, you can walk through our Account Recovery page to see if you already have an account.)

3. Enter your license code in the pop up window.

   • It’s a 14-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that can be found on your CD box insert, envelope, or packing slip.

4. Select your operating system, and select Get Download.

5. Download your software and install.

   • When you get to the Your product is installed, now let's activate it screen, enter your license code in the License code box, and select Continue to complete installation.

How to Install TurboTax?

• 1. Click the link for the TurboTax product that you purchased.

  2. The installer is downloaded to your computer, and the installer window appears on the screen.

  3. Follow the instructions on the screen, clicking Next to move through the process.

  4. On the Ready to Install screen, select Install.

  5. Once the installation is complete, select Launch TurboTax.

  6. The Enter Licence code window appears.

  7. Enter your Licence code and complete the instructions on the screen.
