Announcements for Summer Reading at Multnomah County Library:
- Summer Reading Program -The library's summer reading program will be very different this year. Starting in June, folks of any age can sign up online to count their reading days, earn badges, and enter in drawings for prizes. Once they reach a prize level, they will be entered in a drawing for a prize pack. Alternatively, students can pick up paper game boards at the library or free lunch sites. When they reach a prize level, they'll fill out a postcard that comes with the game board, mail it or drop it off at the library to be entered to win a prize pack. All prizes will be mailed this year.
Everyone who finishes the game will be mailed a t-shirt with the Summer Reading Dragon. Library staff named the dragon Shu Long, which is a pinyin of the Chinese words for book and dragon, together meaning "good reader like a dragon." The grand prize drawing will be for a technology pack including a Chromebook, home printer, and $250.
