attendance policy:

If you are unable to attend any band-related performance, Ms. Cramer must be notified of the absence by you and your parent (written note, email, or phone call) at least two weeks in advance. A "Request For An Excused Absence" will need to be filed.

Valid excuses include, but are not limited to:

• illness
• family emergency
• inclement weather
• other school function

If Ms. Cramer is not informed of the absence within 24 hours of the performance, you will receive a zero for participation and your grade will be affected.

grading policy:

Rehearsal Grade

Each student has the opportunity to receive a maximum of ten points per rehearsal. To receive the full ten points for every rehearsal:

• be on time
• actively participate in the rehearsing process
• have all materials (instrument, folder/binder, music, pencil)
• respect fellow band members, director, and equipment
• return materials to correct locations at the end of every rehearsal

Rehearsal points will be adjusted as such:

• Unexcused absence (in school, no notice to director of absence)
  • 5 points
• Unexcused absence from school
  • 0 points
• Disruptive behavior during rehearsal
  • 5 points
• Inappropriate behavior with warning
  • 5 points

No points will be deducted:

• for an excused absence from school
• for student working with another teacher - must have pass
• if student has given director advanced warning of a rehearsal conflict

Performance Grade

Each performance (concert, pep band game, parade, etc.) has a maximum of fifty points. To receive the full fifty points:

• be on time to the announced meeting location
• have all required materials (instrument, music, music stand, etc.) for the performance
• actively participate in the performance
• assist with moving any equipment before and after the performance
• respect fellow band members, director, equipment
• be a positive representation of Peoria Notre Dame High School and the Music Department
