• Create an example of a “primary source”.
• You are a newspaper editor during the time period leading to the war - 1840 - 1860. Write an editorial piece for a newspaper in the North and another for a newspaper in the South. Choose an event or issue that has happened during the time period immediately before the war (from Chapter 14).
