Meet Information

About The Track

Conveniently located near the intersection of I-580 and I-680, Foothill High School features an all-weather 8 lane track with rail and two sand pits, high jump pit, pole vault pit, 3 shot put rings and discus ring.  The track also features an automatic FinishLynx timing system and a state of the art video screen that will feature full results immediately after each race.

Online Entry Instructions 

Entries will open on ca.milesplit.com on January 1st, 2024 and will close Tuesday, March 19 2024 at 11:59 PM. 

All event entries will require a time/mark for seeding purposes.  Please use times/marks from the 2023 or 2024 seasons or your best estimate for entries.  Heats will be seeded from slowest to fastest.

$15 per relay. $5 per individual entry. $500/school MAX.

General admission: $7.00 for all spectators, children 10 and under free. GOFAN link to be available week of the meet.

Team Payment/Packets

Please be prepared to submit your entry fees at this time if you have not mailed your fee already.  If you have any questions or problems please email Shannon Sos at ssos@pleasantonusd.net. There will NOT be any team packets to pick up.

Event Entries

The meet will be run with Frosh-Soph and Varsity divisions in both genders.  In all running events, schools will be allowed to enter a maximum of three (3) teams per gender per event.  In all field events, schools will be allowed to enter one team with a maximum of four (4) athletes per gender per event.  All entries will be done online at ca.milesplit.com.

Event Mechanics

All races requiring multiple heats will be seeded slowest to fastest.

4 x 800m Relay: 1 turn stagger, first runner one turn in lane or alley

4 x 200m Relay: 4 turn stagger, all runners stay in their lanes

4x400m Relay: 3 turn stagger, first runner in lane full lap, second runner breaks for rail after first turn.

4x400m Co-ed Relay: 3 turn stagger; 2 boys and 2 girls per team, can be in any order.

4 x 110m and 4 x 100m Shuttle Hurdle Relay: Both directions staggered for same race distance (1st hurdle in each direction set at correct mark, etc).

Long Jump/Triple Jump: Athletes will receive 4 attempts for measurements.  No finals; teams will be ranked by adding best mark from each athlete on a team.

Shot Put/Discus: Athletes will receive 4 attempts for measurements.  No finals; teams will be ranked by adding best mark from each athlete on a team.

High Jump: Athletes will receive up to 3 consecutive misses.  Low To High, "5 Alive" format.  No finals; teams will be ranked by adding best mark from each athlete on a team.  Opening height will be based on athletes entered in meet. 

Pole Vault: Athletes will receive up to 3 consecutive misses.  Low To High, "5 Alive" format.  No finals; teams will be ranked by adding best mark from each athlete on a team. Opening height will be based on athletes entered in meet.

Field Event Team Scoring:  In all field events (except pole vault), the top mark from 3 individuals from same school will be added together to make a team score. In pole vault, the top mark from 2 individuals from the same school will be added together.

Awards

T-shirts will be awarded to the team with the fastest time in each running relay event. The top team relay in the field events (top 3 marks added together for each school) will receive t-shirts. ***NEW: 100m and 1 mile: t-shirts to top 6 overall in each division.

Custom engraved batons will be awarded to the school (1 for each gender) with the top team score in all of the events.  Scoring for each event will be as follows:

1st - 10 points

2nd - 8 points

3rd - 6 points

4th - 5 points

5th - 4 points

6th - 3 points

7th - 2 points

8th - 1 point
