About Mrs. Holtzscher

The life and times of Mrs. Jessica Holtzscher...Jessica Holtzscher, born Jessica Nance, was raised in Northeast Missouri in a town called Kahoka. Kahoka is known for only a few things: Clark County Mule Festival, their championship winning football team, and the Marching Indians, who happen to be the resident marching band.

As a high school student, Jessica had many opportunities to travel because of the marching band. Two of the destinations included New York and Los Angeles, as well as many other competitions and locations.

Jessica graduated high school in 2005, and attended Northwest Missouri State University that Fall.

At Northwest, Jessica was active in many different ensembles including: Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Studio Jazz Ensemble, Opera Pit, Bearcat Marching Band, and Orchestra. She also participated in the Missouri All-Collegiate Band (2008) and the National Collegiate Band (2008).

Mrs. Holtzscher student taught with Erin Hale at West Platte, in Weston MO in the Fall of 2009. She graduated from Northwest with her Bachelor of Science in Education: Instrumental Music December of 2009.

Mrs. Holtzscher's first teaching job was teaching band at Putnam County R-1 in Unionville, Missouri. She was the secondary music teacher in the district and handled all bands: 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th& 8th grade, and high school. She also taught drumline class, music appreciation, high school choir, and directed the jazz band and pep band.

After two years at Putnam County, Jessica and (her now husband) Michael got engaged and moved to Blue Springs, Missouri. Jessica's husband, Michael, is a software engineer at Fan Threesixty, as well as an amazing trombone player and teacher.

Jessica spent the 2013-2014 school year at Delta Woods Middle School, teaching special education.
