2024 Apr 23 - Now that NYS ELA and Math Testing are completed we enter the home stretch to the 7th Grade year. Wednesday, students will review Chapter 14 with a test on Thursday. Friday, students will review for the 3rd Marking Period Assessment test in Social Studies. Next Monday, April 29th students will take the 3rd Marking Period Assessment test in Social Studies and then begin Chapter 15 Vocabulary as our nation begins to break apart.
2024 Apr 19 - Most classes finished Chapter 14 today on Immigration, Woman's Rights, and the Abolition movement. Monday and Tuesday will be NYS Math Testing. We will review this chapter on Wednesday (3rd period we will finish and review) and students will test on Chapter 14 on Thursday, April 25th
2024 Apr 10 - We have been working on Chapter 13 America's Manifest Destiny this week. Students will complete back to back Vocabulary for Chapter 13 & 14 on Thursday and Friday so that we can begin to take a look at Chapter 14 "A Spirit of Change" next week. There is also NYS Testing next week so I am combining Chapter 13 & 14 which are two short chapters with plans to test April 25th.
2024 Apr 3 - We began Chapter 12 Yesterday with Vocabulary in class. This is a very short chapter on Andrew Jackson's presidency. We will be reviewing this Friday with the Chapter Test on Tuesday, April 9th. (Reminder that there will be an early dismissal on Monday, April 8th giving students the ability to view the solar eclipse.
2024 Mar 22 - REMINDER that next week we are on Spring Break. We return to school on Tuesday, April 2nd.
2024 Mar 18 - This week we will work on National and Regional Growth in America from 1800 - 1844 (Chapter 11). This is a one week chapter that we will test this Thursday, March 21st. Students will take the Chapter 11 Vocabulary Quiz on Wednesday (March 20th).
2024 Mar 11 - We are finishing the Jefferson era a day early. Students reviewed and will be reviewing the Corp of Discovery today and tomorrow, review for the chapter will be on Wednesday and Test Chapter 10 on Thursday. Thursday and Friday students will begin Chapter 11 exploring regional and national growth in America.
2024 Mar 4 - We begin Chapter 10 today that includes Jefferson's Presidency and the Louisiana Purchase. This chapter will have a shortened DBQ (no essay) and will be completed with a Chapter test on Friday, March 15th.
2024 Feb 26 - Welcome Back! We jump right into Chapter 9 (George Washington's Presidency). This is a one week chapter with Vocabulary due on Thursday. We will review on Thursday with the Test on Friday.
2024 Feb 16 - REMINDER that next week we are on Winter Break. We return to school on Monday, February 26th.
2024 Feb 12 - Students have been working on our United States Constitution over the last few weeks. This week they will either sing, say, or write the Preamble by Friday. Additionally, students will be tested on Chapter 8, the U.S. Constitution this Friday we will review on Thursday.
2024 Jan 25 - 7th Grade students worked on their Chapter 8 Confederation to Constitution Vocabulary definitions. They will need them all to examine and fill in the blanks on Chapter 8 Note packets beginning tomorrow.
2024 Jan 20 - I'm going to try to get this information to all my students but just in case someone does not get it, please pass the word along to your friends that are in my 7th grade classes.
Since this coming week is the last week of the 2nd Marking Period and we had a very shortened week last week, all unfinished work MUST be submitted to me by Monday midnight so that I can grade it and get it in for this Marking Period.
You WILL be taking the Chapter 7 Test this Monday, January 22nd, in class, and those that didn't show me their Chapter 7 vocabulary can do so at the beginning of class on Monday.
We will review for the 2nd Marking Period Assessment Test on Tuesday and you will take the 2nd Marking Period Assessment Test on Wednesday.
We will begin Chapter 8, Confederation to Constitution, on Thursday.
2024 Jan 17 - Welcome back from an extended weekend. We will finish Chapter 7 today, review for the test tomorrow (Thursday), and complete the Chapter 7 test on Friday.
2024 Jan 2 - Welcome Back and Happy New Year! We will continue Chapter 7 (American Revolution) and should finish the chapter around January 19th.
2023 Dec 18 - The last home stretch to our holiday break! Students will begin Chapter 7 getting them to George Washington's retreat from NYC. This will allow us to pick up in January at the Christmas Time Crossing and Attack on Trenton. Also this week students will begin, work on and complete a Revolutionary War DBQ. Have a Happy Holiday! We are back to school on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
2023 Dec 4 - This week we begin Chapter 6 "The Road to Revolution." This Chapter is 2 weeks long with the Chapter test on Friday, December 15th.
2023 Nov 27 - Welcome Back! - This week is a short Chapter (5) on Identify American Culture. Students will finish the chapter on Wednesday, review on Thursday, and Test on Friday.
2023 Nov 20 - We will begin Chapter 5 - Identify American Culture next Monday - Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
2023 Nov 13 - We will finish Chapter 3/4, The English Establish Colonies in America, this week and will take the Chapter 3/4 Test this Friday, November 17th.
2023 Oct 30 - Today we begin Chapter 3: The English Establish Colonies in America. This chapter is combined with Chapter 4 and will take us to Friday, November 18th. On Thursday, November 9th, the last day of the marking period, students will take the1st Marking Period Assessment Test. This is material they have already studied and been tested on. All unfinished work for this marking period MUST be turned in by Wednesday, November 8th at 11:59pm.
2023 Oct 18 - Change of Plans: To give time to accurately complete Chapter 2 - European Exploration of the America's, we will take one more day of notes tomorrow and then Review on Friday the 20th and take the Chapter 2 Test on Monday, October 23rd.
2023 Oct 16 - This week students will work on Chapter 2 - European Exploration of the America's - Review will be Thursday the 19th with a Chapter Test on the 20th.
2023 Oct 10 - This week students will be working on the VFW Patriot Pen with the theme of "How are you inspired by America." They will begin Chapter 2 Vocabulary on Friday and should finish Chapter 2 "European Exploration" by next Friday, October 20th.
2023 Oct 2 - We will finish Chapter 1 this week. Review for the chapter test will be on Thursday and the Test for Chapter 1 will be on Friday.
2023 Sep 25 - Today we began Chapter 1. This chapter is expected to be completed by next week and we will test on Chapter 1 next Friday, October 6th. NOTE: Open House is this Wednesday, September 27th from 6:00p,m - 8:00pm. You will follow your student's schedule.
2023 Sep 18 - This week we wrap up the Geography Chapter. Students will complete a review page to study from in class on Thursday and take the test on Friday.
2023 Sep 12 - Today we begin the Geography Chapter. Note Packet is in your Google Classroom and PowerPoints that I teach from in class are available on this website at Current Chapter or PowerPoint.
