Varsity Letters

VARSITY LETTERS AND PINS

Students will receive a varsity letter for participation in Band and Chorus after having fulfilled the following requirements for each:

PEP BAND

1. You must be a high school member and participate for the entire length of the season.

2. You must attend all rehearsals, football games, parades and other scheduled performances. (ex.- pep-rallies)

3. You must have at least 80% attendance at practices. Members must practice with intent. The right attitude at rehearsal is one of the most important factors in this activity.

4. You must perform all music that is required.

5. You may not have any serious ISS or OSS referrals.

6. You may not have any unexcused absences from outside of practice, with no more than two excused absences per season.

7. Remain a member in good standing.

8. A member must display sportsmanship and conduct which exemplifies the school to his or her competition, spectators, band mates, and officials, and must conform to school rules/regulations.

**In the event of injury or other legitimate extenuating circumstances, varsity letters will be awarded on the recommendation of the director or staff member.

**Receipt of a varsity letter is ultimately at the discretion of the band director.

CHORUS

1. You must be a member of the chorus and participate for the entire year, which is Semester 1 Marking Period 1and Semester 2, Marking Period 4.

2. You must attend all rehearsals, concerts and other scheduled performances (ex. - nursing homes).

3. You must have at least 80% attendance at practices. Members must practice with intent. The right attitude at rehearsal is one of the most important factors in this activity.

4. You must perform all music that is required.

5. You may not have any serious ISS or OSS referrals.

6. You may not have any unexcused absences from outside of practice, with no more than two excused absences per year.
