Snack

Feel free to send a snack to school with your child. If they need utensils for their snack, please send that as well. (We do not have those items in the classroom.) You may include a drink – please do not send sodas, cans or glass bottles. We encourage you to send healthy snacks and water or juices. Feel free to send a water bottles for your child to sip on throughout the day.

Student lunch monies can be deposited to the student’s account over the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using PaySchoolsCentral. By logging onto www.payschoolscentral.com, the parent can easily:

    • Set up an account

    • Deposit money

    • Set e-mail reminders to notify when the student’s account gets low

    • Set up recurring payments

    • Check your student’s account balance

    • Request an activity report that will display what the student has eaten in the previous 30 days

All that is needed to set up an account is:

    • A valid e-mail address

    • A credit card

    • The student’s identification number

If money is deposited before 9:00 pm Eastern Time, it is available the next morning in the student’s account.

Agendas / Homework Folder

Each day your child will bring home an agenda & homework folder in their book bag. Please be sure to check & sign these daily for any forms or letters that need to be filled out and brought back to school. Please feel free to send notes to me in the agenda. You may also text me through the Seesaw app or send me an email at craddoh@pitt.k12.nc.us. We will also send completed work home in Wednesday folders. This is a chance for you to see how your child is progressing in class. Please take time to talk about the work that is sent home with your child.

Moment of Silence

Pitt County Schools will begin their day with a ‘moment of quiet reflection to create a boundary between school time & non-school time, & to set a tone that the classroom will be conducive to discipline & learning. During this time students will remain seated & engage in any silent activity that does not interfere with, distract, or impede another student – which may include meditating or praying.’ Please talk with your child about what you would like for them to think about during this time. If you would like for them to pray that is fine. If you would like for them to think about ‘listening to my teacher’ or ‘following directions’ etc, that is also fine.

School Uniforms

Don’t forget children are required to wear uniforms to school. Please see the student handbook or visit Pitt County’s website for more information on our dress code.
