Mrs. Pickles uses the Kodaly Method and incorporates a variety of elements from the Orff Schulwerk style of teaching music too. The students primarily sing and experience the music initially and then we label, demonstrate, explore, and define our musical concepts. And, we then transfer that knowledge to the written form and performing or creating music on the many instruments PISD provides for us. Through the use of folk songs and music from around the world, students are provided with a variety of experiences. It is most valuable to create a life long enjoyment of music through the use of quality music, experiences, knowledge, and skills to all learners.
