Joey Gore is the director of the Wilmington Celebration Choir and the president of Pillar Music Group. Music has always been a huge part of his life as he started playing the piano when he was only 8 years old. He attended Cape Fear Community College and then moved to Nashville, TN. in 1983 with his first professional job in music with the Legendary Naomi Sego. In October of 1996, Joey came to Wrightsboro UMC as their pianist and then later as the Minister of worship and music.
Pillar Music Group was started soon after and the Pillar Records Choir was formed, later renamed the Wilmington Celebration Choir. Over the years, Joey has recorded and produced for many local, regional and national artists from the Wilmington Celebration Choir to the Anchormen, and Lynda Randle. The WCC choir has traveled both locally and abroad doing concerts of their own music and working with many top gospel artists including The Hoppers, Carmen, Jessy Dixon, Lynda Randle, The Talleys, Karen Peck & New River, Bill Gaither and many more. In 2011 eighteen members of the WCC went to Cape Town, South Africa to sing and work in the AIDS and Homeless communities.
