Following the devastating earthquake in Ecuador on April 16, 2016, cities near the epicenter of the event were destroyed and despite relief efforts, many areas remained inaccessible due to damaged roads and collapsed bridges (x).
To help with relief efforts, Bryen Jordan and Pablo Litmua organized donations at Einstein's Department of Neuroscience to be collected for the purchase of supplies like water, canned goods and medical supplies.
Thank you to everyone who contributed for your awareness and contribution to bring aid to our global community!
Through the donations collected at Einstein, Bryen and Pablo were able to purchase:
a large tent
several cases of water
hydrogen peroxide
flashlights
diapers
batteries
These items were delivered to the Ecuadorean Consulate in Queens Plaza and from there they will be shipped to Ecuador.
Special thanks to Bryen Jordan and Pablo Lituma for organizing this effort!
