About the Library





Expectations

Students must show their student ID to enter and use the library.

Students must have a valid GREEN pass to visit the library during the day.

Students must show an ID in order to borrow library materials.

Scheduled classes have priority.

Library one-day lunch passes are available in the cafeteria from the administrator on duty.

No food or beverages are allowed in the media center.

Using the library media center is a privilege not a right.


Books

LMC materials must be paid for if lost or damaged. The overdue fee for books is 10 cents per day.

      • Books are checked out for two weeks and may be renewed.

      • Reference books are checked out for overnight use only and may be renewed.

Computers

The library has 30 personal computers that are running Windows XP.

  • They are for academic purposes only!

  • Please bring a flash drive to save your work


Laminating & Poster Requests

All items that need to be laminated should have your name and room number on them. Please place the items on my desk and allow 48 hours for them to be ready. If you need a poster made please put a hard copy of the item in a folder with your name and classroom #, then place in the burgundy tray on the side of my desk. You also can send me a PDF. Lamination and posters are for teachers only.

Collection

    • Over 15,000 materials in the Fairmont Heights library collection that are arranged by the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
