Benchmarks

The purpose of these assessments is to provide instructional tools for teachers to see what your child learned following recent instruction. No grades will be assigned based on these assessment results. The results of the Benchmark and/or FAST Assessments will be used by teachers and schools to enhance instruction on skills your child is learning in the classroom.

The assessments will cover the four major content areas of Mathematics, Reading/English/Language Arts (RELA), Science, and Social Studies. The Mathematics Benchmark assessments will be administered to students in grades 1-8, and select high school courses. The RELA  Benchmark assessments will be administered to students in grades 3 through 10.The Science Benchmark assessments will be administered to students in grades 5, 8, and High School Biology. The Social Studies Benchmark will be administered to students in grade 8 and in High School, students taking an LSN Government course will take a Benchmark assessment.

Benchmark Parent Portal

Following the Benchmark 1 test administration, parents and families have the ability to access completed Benchmark individual student reports for students via the PGCPS Pearson Access Parent Portal. In order to access these reports. Parents and families must provide, during the student registration process, an active email address prior to the Benchmark 1 test administration. The email address on file will be used to connect to the PGCPS Pearson Access Parent Portal.
