Kite quivers
A collection of kites is called a quiver.
Beginners often start with a single largish kite such as a 10, 11 or 12m that is suitable for winds ranging from 15 up to 25 knots.
Once you have developed your skills you can go out in winds greater than 25 knots if you use smaller kites.
Here are some example quivers:
Two kites: 10 and 7 (body weight 75 kg, beginner to intermediate)
10m for light to medium winds
7m for stronger winds
Two kites: 12 and 9 (body weight 85 kg, beginner to intermediate)
12m for light to medium winds
9m for stronger winds
Three kites: 12, 9, 6 (body weight 85 kg beginner to intermediate)
12m for light to medium winds
9m for stronger winds
6m for very strong winds (e.g. up to 40 knots)
Two kites: 10 and 8 (body weight 85 kg advanced, with surfboard)
10 for light to medium winds
8 for stronger winds
Three kites: 10, 8, 6 (body weight 85 kg advanced, with surfboard)
10m for lighter winds
8m for stronger winds
6m for very strong winds (e.g. up to 40 knots)
For very light winds you could:
Add a light wind kite (14.5 to 18m) or a foil kite
Use a board that goes well in light winds such as a raceboard, a surfboard or a foil board (intermediate to advanced)
