Grades 3-4

Grade 3

This is the first year that the students can check books out from any area in the library. They will learn how to access Fetch, the library catalog. They will also receive instruction on the Dewey Decimal System, and they will learn about the parts of a book. We will talk about authors and illustrators and how to locate books they are interested in.

Grades 4

Students can check out books from all sections of the library. They will become more familiar with using the computers to find library information. Students will continue to utilize Fetch, our online library catalog. Also, they will practice using the Dewey Decimal System and will review information about the parts of a book. We will talk about authors and illustrators and how to locate books they are interested in.
