Lab Rules

There are two GIS labs in geography, CH 469 and CH 475. CH 469 is accessed through a key pad lock by authorized users based on the availability. CH 475 opens during regular office hours, Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. After hour use permitted for approved users (see below) and graduate students. Call Security (503-725-4407) for access.


    • Masks Required at all Times (see PSU COVID-19 Related Policies page for more information)

    • Priority of usage: Teaching, Research, Lab sessions, general users

    • Use is limited to: Geography faculty and staff, Geography graduate students, Geography Majors, and students enrolled in Geography classes

    • CH 469 use is limited to: students enrolled in Geography Technique (except GEOG 380U) classes

    • Use is limited to work for Geography classes only

    • Be respectful to other users

    • No inappropriate use of the internet

    • No food or drink

    • No printing of personal material (e.g., personal e-mails)

    • No excessive printing- Remember that you can print 500 pages/term in OIT public labs. To check your page usage, go to print.pdx.edu.

    • Backup important files to portable media regularly -- The Geography Department is not responsible for any data lost from the lab computers

    • Personal files will be removed from the computers at the end of each term

    • Please help keep the lab clean, cleaning supplies are available in the Geography Department

    • If CH 475 lab is empty when you leave, please close the door. The door of CH 469 should remain closed at all time.
