Welcome! -- This site provides a variety of resources for training Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and developing and implementing Behavior Support Plans (BSP) for individuals with recurring problem behavior. This site can be used for self-study, university/college courses, or for training staff.
Content is focused on understanding the motivation, pay-off, or function of an individual's problem behavior and to use that information to identify and implement effective interventions. These materials are designed for application in school settings, however, the principles can be effective for supporting individual with challenging behavior across many settings. Below is a brief introduction to the resources on this site.
The Basic FBA to BSP training is a 7 module training series focused on building capacity in schools to implement Tier 3 Behavior Support. The training is available in two formats:
NEW!!! Basic FBA to BSP Training
Additional training resources and materials Include:
Function-Based Thinking: Training - a research-based training (about 80 minutes) on how to identify interventions based on the function of behavior; perfect for college courses, training staff, or for trainers to view as a support for delivering the training in person
FBA Interview Video Demonstration - video demo of an interview using the FACTS
FBA/BSP Instructions & Forms - instruction manual and forms for completing FBA/BSP
This site provides resources to help establish a basic understanding of problem behavior, as well as tools for conducting assessments (Functional Behavior Assessment; FBA) and guiding intervention planning for individuals with persistent challenging behavior.
The I-PBS Team section provides an example of a school teaming process for effectively and efficiently monitoring Tier 2 & Tier 3 systems of PBIS in your school.
