Fall Stations

Spider Web:

The Spider Web builds upper and lower body strength, coordination and encourages the practice of taking turns. While at this station students are looking at pictures and reading about spiders found in Tennessee. (Kindergarten is looking at pictures and counting the spiders in the web).

Rattle Your Bones:

Rattle your bones incorporates the use of pedometers to track movement. Students are encouraged to run in place, march, dance, or move in any safe manner while wearing the device. This station promotes muscle and cardiovascular endurance. Students will be writing at this station when they predict the number steps they will get in a 3 minute period. Afterwards they will record their actual results to determine how accurate they were with their predictions.

Falling Leaves:

Students are learning and practicing the correct sequencing and coordination for juggling. This station will progressively becomes more difficult as they improve because they will be adding to the amount of scarves they are juggling (extension may not come until Winter Stations with their 'Falling Snow' station). K and 1st are practicing with one scarf, 2,3, and 4 are practicing with 2.

Bat Cave:

Students are improving upper and lower body strength when crawling or squatting through the cave. They are taking turns and practicing patience with one another while friends explore and discover inside the cave. Flashlights are used to observe pictures of different Tennessee bats and to read facts about bats.

Apple Toss:

Students will be practicing dribbling skills for our upcoming basketball unit using green, red, and yellow balls... the same colors apples can be!!!

Pumpkins on a Fence:

Students are working on their underhand throw at this station. This station encourages aim, precision, hand-eye coordination, and focus. While at this station students are able to look at pictures and read about health benefits of eating pumpkins, the best kinds of pumpkins to carve, how to carve a pumpkin safely, as well as some fun facts about pumpkins.

Corn Maze:

This station encourages lower body strength by students pushing/pulling themselves along on a scooter with their legs (hamstrings will BURN). As students travel through the maze they will be looking at pictures and reading about different kinds of wildlife found here in Tennessee such as turkeys, bears, owls, and rattlesnakes. They will also be learning some of the best places to see each animal.
